Artist Statement
Larissa Simpson is a singer-songwriter and multidisciplinary artist whose work explores relationships between humans, the natural world, and the places we call home.
Working across music, illustration, collage, painting, and installation, Larissa creates work centered around biodiversity, environmental connection, belonging, and compassion. Her practice brings together influences from folk art, natural history, visual storytelling, and contemporary art, exploring the meeting point between beauty, curiosity, and responsibility.

NYC Oyster Reef Restoration Art Projects
2016–Present
Larissa has developed a body of environmental artwork exploring the restoration of New York City’s historic oyster reefs and the relationship between urban environments and marine ecosystems.
Through illustration, installation, and community-based exhibitions, these projects highlight biodiversity, ecological restoration, and the importance of reconnecting communities with local waterways.
